CountrySpices Red Chilli Flakes

This red chilli powder has been sourced from Meghalaya where the soil is conducive to producing fragrant yet pungent chillies. Red chili flakes make an excellent condiment, where red chillies are dried and crushed, as opposed to ground. These red chilli flakes have medium heat with a sweet edge to them. Red chilli powder is equally valued for its taste and its bright red colour, derived from capsanthin. It also is a rich source of vitamin C, minerals fibre and omega 3. The rich colouring of Red Chilli flakes not only enhances the visual appeal of foods but can also be used as a key flavouring. It goes well with just about any savoury food as a topping, including vegetable curries, stews, creamy sauces, pasta, pizzas, tomato dishes and salads. For most recipes, Chilli powder is added near the end of the cooking process, because heat diminishes both the colour and flavour.
